A walled city dating back to BC, and the capital of Malta until the mid’s. We had a quick stop here on a bus tour of the island. We would have liked to have had an hour to explore. This place is really worth to spend a day walking around through all the small streets and looking around on all the cultural places, to stop on a street cafe for a refreshment and a icecream. Just walked around the free parts , fantastic views of Valletta, Sleima, St Julian’s, wandering through the ancient narrow streets of Mdina until light was Fading, and walked around the moat, fantastic buildings and statues,well worth a visit. Be careful only if you use hop on hop off buses. I mean malta sightseeing beware of them! We took a local bus from Valetta and came very easily to Mdina, where we walked around and into and extensively in the walled city.
